On Sunday morning, a body was found floating in the canal from the community of Forest Lake Estates to Lauderhill.
According to the police, a resident of the private neighborhood found the body and it was he who called the police. She said she was surprised because it was very close to the patio of her house.
Just before 10 a.m., city police responded to the residential complex at 4867 Northwest 67th Avenue after receiving a 911 emergency call saying there was a body floating in the water.
A neighbor said her husband found the body in the patio of his house and called her, screaming desperately after the discovery, they immediately contacted the authorities.
A team of divers from the Broward Sheriff’s Office quickly responded to the scene to assist in the canal body recovery operation.
Authorities describe the person found dead as an adult black male.
Police say the man they found dead has already been identified, but they won’t release the name until they first notify the victim’s next of kin.
At the moment, the investigation is in the initial stage and the circumstances of the death of this individual are unknown.
