Believing it was someone looking for his son, a man opened the front door of his home – at 1124 Champions Drive, Daytona Beach – after hearing a noise. But instead, he found an alligator that rushed into the residence and ended up biting the man in the leg.
The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities were able to locate the animal near the driveway of the house, and Florida Wildlife Conservation staff arrived on the scene.
The alligator was later euthanized. The incident happened late Saturday night.
