Washington, Sep 8 – The Secretary of State of the United States, Antony Blinken, will visit Mexico City next Monday for a meeting on economic issues with Mexican government officials, as reported this Thursday.

Blinken will travel with a number of officials, including Secretary Gina Raimund and Deputy US Trade Representative Jayme White, the US government said in a statement.

The meeting will be focused on working on the “economic, social and commercial” priorities shared by both countries, the State Department added.

The dialogue has the objective of “promoting economic development, job creation (…) and the reduction of poverty and inequality,” the announcement detailed.

Blinken will also meet with Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrad.

The Secretary of State’s trip to Mexico comes a little less than two months after the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, traveled to Washington D.C. for a meeting with President Joe Biden.
