One person was killed and at least nine were injured after a stampede was reported at rapper GloRilla’s concert Sunday night in Rochester, New York.

According to authorities the stampede originated after rumors spread that shots were being fired. It is still unclear why fans said they heard gunshots.

“We have no evidence that shots were fired or that anyone was shot or stabbed,” officials said in a statement.

After fans were leaving the Main Street Armory when the concert ended past 11:00 pm the incident originated.

Police officers outside the venue found three women “with serious injuries.”

One of them, who was 33, did not survive and the other two remain in critical condition “fighting for their lives,” police said.

“As the evening progressed, seven other people arrived at local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries from the event. Preliminary reports from people at the scene indicate that these injuries were caused by trampling,” the statement reported.

Police continue to investigate the origin of the incident, as well as who may have been responsible.

GloRilla, a Grammy nominee in the best rap performance category for her track F.N.F., tweeted early Monday that she was just learning about what happened. “Praying that everyone is okay,” the artist expressed.

Gloria Hallelujah Woods – the artist’s given name – launched her career in 2016, participated in the Grammy Awards’ 50th Anniversary Hip-Hop Tribute and her song Tomorrow 2, alongside Cardi B, entered the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.
