More than 2,000 Thanksgiving-style meals were served this Good Friday to homeless people in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

More than 200 volunteers help provide meals for attendees who also enjoyed special treats, haircuts and entertainment.

As part of the event, over 600 Easter baskets donated by various community partners were delivered to children and needy members of the community.

At the Miami Rescue Mission’s The Caring Place center, located at 2020 NW and 1st Avenue Miami, and the Broward Outreach Centers, located at 2056 Scott Street Hollywood, two activities were conducted for the homeless and needy of South Florida. Florida, who live in street conditions.

“It is a privilege to provide meals and assistance to the most needy members of our community. We want homeless and at-risk families to know that they are loved and that we are here to help,” said Reverend Ronald Brummitt, President of The Caring Place at Miami Rescue Mission.

Political figures such as Hialeah City Mayor Esteban Bovo and Hollywood and Tamarac City Commissioners Adam Gruber and Marlon Bolton joined in the Good Friday celebrations.
