A person walking on Interstate 5 died after being hit by a pickup truck, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported.
The incident happened around 4 p.m. near Magnolia Avenue.
The victim, identified as a man, was walking from one of the lanes towards the central divider, the CHP reported.
The investigation led to the closure of much of the freeway’s lanes, including two left-hand lanes of Freeway 5, as well as the transition from eastbound Freeway 91 to Freeway 5 southbound.
At this time, it is unknown how long the lane closure will last.
