Sadhguru, perhaps the best known yogi in the world and founder of Isha Foundation, an international humanitarian organization based in South India, will leave London on March 21 to embark on a solo motorcycle trip of over 300,000 km which will take him to cross 24 nations including Italy to launch the global movement ‘Conscious planet – Save the soil’.
The movement wants to mobilize the support of citizens and commit governments around the world to take political action aimed at revitalizing the soil and stopping its degradation which, according to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), could reach the 90% of the earth’s land by 2050.
“The most serious ecological challenge facing humanity at the moment – says the most followed yogi in the world, with over 1 billion views on YouTube and over 20 million followers on social networks – is land degradation. We must be aware that if we kill the soil, we kill the planet. All other issues are only relevant if we have a planet. “
The Conscious Planet tour will also touch Italy on April 2 with an event at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome which is expected to include Fabio Volo, Elisa, Noemi and Giovanni Caccamo.
