From the bottom of my heart I tell you PlayStation VR2 or PS VR2 blew me away. I am perhaps one of the most closed users to virtual reality. I got the first PS VR and decided to try this technology with the Oculus Quest 2 last year as well. Both disappointed me, more than anything else because they remained anecdotal gadgets that were not up to what I would like to experience with virtual reality glasses.
So I’m not lying to you, I approached PS VR2 with a lot of skepticism, so much so that maybe if I hadn’t reviewed them, I wouldn’t have considered buying them in any way. But what a slap PlayStation gave me with the PS VR2. These glasses are so damn amazing that I don’t even know where to begin to tell you about my experience with them. I guess at first.
PS VR2 is the best virtual reality experience you can try
From the moment you take the PS VR2 out of the box, you already realize that these are virtual reality glasses that are on another level.. The quality of the materials, the assembly, the comfort during the fitting… Everything is put forward from the first moment. Also, one of the things I was most critical of with early VR was that you had a hundred million cables, which made it very difficult to place them every time you wanted to play, to the point that often I would rather not do it than ride the cables madness that was. With the PS VR2 it’s over, it’s a matter of plugging a single cable, a single cable to the USB-C on the front of the PS5 and working. I couldn’t believe it!
I could bother you now with half an hour of specifications, but I think it’s not necessary, in the end these are numbers and you can find them in a thousand news or in other articles, in the end I think the sensations will be worth more. Likewise, much of the blame for all the good things I’m about to tell you is that the PS VR2 has the best possible technology for virtual reality glasses. Two different panels for each eye, 4K resolution in each of them, OLED technology, eye tracking, front camera… In technology we are served and it shows.
The first time you put on the glasses, which by the way are much more comfortable than the previous model, the PS5 performs an initial configuration in which to adapt the glasses to your gaming area, in addition to marking other useful patterns for the eye tracking or the placement of glasses on your head. Already in this configuration you notice that PS VR2 is premium, everything is thought out, something that was not in the first version.
Now well, what I am going to tell you now is IMPOSSIBLE for me to convey it as I experienced it and I apologize, but the experience was amazing. The test we have has several games but I wanted to start with Horizon Call of the Mountains, whose analysis you can read hereand ma’am, ma’am, it didn’t make any sense.
All the virtual reality glasses that I had tried did not achieve, in my opinion, a real immersive effect by not showing powerful graphics. But it is that this problem does not have the PS VR2, well They have a power that I was entering the world of this Horizon VR and going crazy. I promise you that I felt in thereI was in a boat crossing a river as some of the gaming machines attacked us, they circled the stage… a brutal experience, I felt in there, everything seemed so real, so alive, with such good colors… My reaction was incredible, I wish I had recorded it.
As I mentioned before, I’m not going to go into the technical specs, but it’s that PS VR2 makes you feel inside the worlds you visit Because they have the perfect power and such good viewing panels that let you see everything so clearly and clearly that it’s a lot easier to trick your brain into creating that experience.

The DualSense seems to me the best controller in the history of PlayStation, but the Japanese brand is in the sweet spot and NOW has come up with controllers for the PS VR2 which are another fucking wonder. The controllers that the Oculus Quest 2 had already seemed good to me, but the PS VR2 controllers outperform them.
They are incredibly comfortable, intuitive, with the buttons in the exact places and without giving up technology either, because for example they can sense the position of the fingers, so that in many games, in Horizon VR without going any further, if we look at our fingers in the game, he will close his fist or open it with his fingers like we do in real life (and yes, we can make a comb, because he is able to detect it).
Also, there is no problem when managing console menus with these commands, there is no need to have a DualSense on hand at any time.
You can play any PS5 game with the glasses to enjoy it as if you were in the cinema
One of the options that many of you are unaware of is that with the PS VR2 you can play any game NOT compatible with virtual reality to enjoy with the glasses and it looks like you are playing on a cinema screen. This possibility reaches the point where we can adjust the size of the screen, so that it seems that we are in a cinema and we can even choose the row in which we sit.
It was already possible in the first VR glasses, but it was not useful at all because the screen looked blurry and had a bad resolution, but with the PS VR2 with 4K resolution and OLED panels , it’s amazing to enjoy games with them on. I’ve been playing Dead Space Remake and Hogwarts Legacy for a long time with very, very good experience.
Now I’m also being honest and telling you that I will continue to play from the TV, but in the end I’m also a user who can’t even stand to wear headphones to play with glasses on my head. But hey, if you don’t have a big TV or just want to game and use the TV at home at the same time, you can use the VR2 for that.

I have always lacked something with this technology to finish enjoying it and all the barriers have been broken down. I really enjoyed stepping into the worlds of Horizon Call of the Mountain, seeing Aloy inches away from me, or wielding a lightsaber in the Star Wars universe. The immersion experience is the best that exists today without virtual reality glasses. The feeling of being inside a game has never been greater than now.
