NEW YORK — Authorities arrested a 13-year-old boy over the weekend for stabbing his 14-year-old sister in Queens, New York police said.

According to information from those in uniform, the event took place on Saturday around 7:00 p.m. in a residence of 111-18 156th Street in the Jamaican Quarter. Officers arrived at the scene after an emergency call and found the minor with multiple stab wounds.

The girl was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center with a collapsed lung and in critical condition.

Apparently, it was her brother who called the police to report a suspected robbery and allegedly used a kitchen knife to assault her. The teenager was arrested and charged with assault.

The cause behind the attack is unknown.

This is a case under investigation.
