The caption to be read on the plaque is: “Diana Spencer, later the Princess of Wales 1961-1997 lived here 1979-1981”. Before Diana will marry Prince Charles , lived with her friends while working as a babysitter and a nursery teacher’s assistant.

“We hope our Diana, Princess of Wales plaque will be very popular. He was an inspiration and a cultural icon to many, raising awareness on issues such as landmines and homelessness, and helping destigmatize diseases such as HIV, leprosy and depression, ”said Anna Eavis, curatorial director of English Heritage, through a statement.

“It seems appropriate that we should erect a plaque commemorating his work and influence on what would have been his 60th birthday,” he added.
