A passenger on a Delta flight from Los Angeles International Airport to Seattle was arrested on Saturday for allegedly opening an emergency exit door on the plane and causing the emergency slide to activate.
The action happened around 10 a.m. Saturday, as the plane flew away from the gate. Los Angeles Airport police have arrested the passenger for further investigation, according to Captain Karla Rodriguez.
“Due to the circumstances, the FBI has been notified,” Rodriguez said.
“The plane has been brought back to a gate and passengers are being disembarked to be transported to another plane so they can continue with their flight plans.”
He added that no arrests had been made, but “the subject was transported to a local hospital for mental evaluation.”
