NEW YORK — A baby and a 73-year-old woman experienced a moment of terror when two suspects stole their car in the Bronx, police said.

Authorities say the two suspected thieves came across a parked Toyota RAV4 on Sunday morning in the Parkchester section moments after the driver exited a shop near Olmstead Avenue there Unionport Road. Three passengers aged 73, 37 and 1 year old were seated inside the vehicle.

The 37-year-old managed to escape and get out of the car uninjured when the thieves arrived, police said, but the other two victims were trapped inside the car as the suspects drove off. were fleeing.

Fortunately, their nightmarish journey was brief. The two remaining passengers, the baby and the 73-year-old woman, got out of the car a few blocks away near Rosedale Avenue there Cross the Bronx Freeway. No one was hurt.

According to the police, the thieves took off in the stolen car and eventually abandoned it in University Avenue in the Highbridge section.
