SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Several people were rescued Saturday from a stopped roller coaster at the Six Flags Fiesta Texas amusement park in San Antonio, authorities said.

The San Antonio Fire Department reported that no one was injured in the incident. The roller coaster that suffered the emergency has 360-degree turns.

The Poltergeist roller coaster stopped mid-course around 11:54 a.m. CT, park spokesman Jeff Filicko said.

A total of 20 people were stuck in the middle of the roller coaster ride and in an upright position.

Filicko later said that all the passengers were safely cared for and escorted after the terrifying incident.

“The safety of our visitors is our priority. The roller coaster will be closed until a full inspection is completed,” added the park spokesman.
