Coming to a New York terminal soon, you may be able to sit down, but not for long.

That would soon happen in Grand Central Madison, as the MTA’s board of directors plans to decide whether to implement a bench time limit at the new transit center, which is sometimes crowded.

The board will meet on Wednesday to vote on a possible 90-minute seating limit on terminal benches.

If it sounds odd to set a rule, it’s nothing new: MTA officials said the 90-minute restriction is already in place in the rest of Grand Central.

Opponents say it unfairly targets the homeless.

It would also be forbidden to lie on benches and sit on platforms.
