The anime of “Kimetsu no Yaiba“returned to Spain a few days ago with the film ‘Rumbo a la Aldea de los Herreros’, a feature film that was basically responsible for combining the last two episodes of the second season of the anime with the first of the season 3. Personally, the editing of the feature film left me quite cold, but more than cold I ended up quite confusing when the image of a particular character appeared at the very end of the film.

The Kimetsu no Yaiba anime changes an interesting element regarding the manga (SPOILERS)

For this reason, I want to discuss now who the aforementioned character is and why, indeed, we may see him again for When “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Season 3 airs on April 9, 2023:

  • I remember going to the cinema to see Rumbo a la Aldea de los Herreros with a group of friends and being amazed for the character we saw at the very end: Yoriichi.
  • In effect, the creator of the breath of the sun, the nightmare of Muzanappeared in The Last Thing Tanjiro Saw and, in fact, The Last Thing the movie Kimetsu no Yaiba also showed us: Heading to the Blacksmith Village.
  • It was a single moment: Yoriichi appeared next to Tokito while arguing with a member of the Blacksmith Village.. There was no word, action or anything like that: just a presence. However, said presence is one that originally does NOT occur in the mangaas you can see below:
  • Obviously I can’t put images of the film since it was only given in cinema release, but comparing what I comment with what we see in the manga the difference is more than clear.
  • Why was it decided to introduce this in the Kimetsu no Yaiba anime? What is certain is that Soon, secrets such as the Mark of the Hunter, the Breath of the Sun and all its derivatives, the Transparent World will begin to unfold at full speed… All of this is something that has Yoriichi as the central character, and while at this point in the story Tanjiro has already used the mark subconsciously, Tokito is the mainstay with the most potential.
  • In essence, I understand that if the Kimetsu no Yaiba anime wanted to put Yoriichi in this place and time, it’s to hint that the relevance of his figure is about to skyrocket.

This leads me to think whether the “Kimetsu no Yaiba” anime will take another similar liberty when it comes to introducing key end-story topics. It is clear that to date the adaptation has remained very faithful to what Koyoharu Gotouge represented in the manga, simply limiting itself to doing ufotable make the show look like you could never have imagined. However, it may be time to take out the detective’s magnifying glass to analyze according to which moments.
