The actress Jena Malone was opened on the channel via Instagram to rremember one of the most bitter moments he experienced during the filming of the popular cinematic saga The hunger Games. The young woman, who gave life to the character of Johanna Mason in the last two parts of the trilogy (in flames there Model parts 1 and 2), revealed on her social media that she had been raped by a team member.
Malone begins his message with a warning – “trigger warning” – to his followers, because what he says could be distressing for whoever reads it. “This photo was taken right after I finished Mockingjay: part two and say goodbye to everyone on set. We were shooting in a beautiful rural passage in France and I asked the driver to leave me in this meadow to cry and immortalize this moment“, express.
“Although this moment in Paris was extremely hard on me – I was going through a breakup and had also been sexually assaulted by someone I had worked with-, I was totally grateful for this project, the people I connected with and the incredible role that I was able to play”, she continues.
Despite the years that have passed, the actress recognizes that it is now that she learns to command this potpourri of feelings that swirled in her head. “I wish I wasn’t tied to such a traumatic event, but I guess that’s part of the craziness of life. How to maintain chaos with beauty,” she says.
“I worked very hard to heal and learn through restorative justice how to make peace with the person who raped me and make peace with myself. It was hard to talk about it The hunger Games and Johanna Mason without feeling the sharpness of this precise moment, but I am ready to overcome it and regain the joy and fulfillment I felt“, he exclaims on the psychological work he has done to turn the page, remember his past milestones and look to the future with hope.
Finally, he used the text to send a message to other rape victims, so that they speak about their respective cases without fear and ask for help. “The process is very slow and not at all linear, but I want to say that I am here for anyone who needs to talk, let off steam or open up non-communicating spaces within themselves. Please contact me if you need a safe space to be heard,” peaked.
This confession comes the year the prequel to The Hunger Games, titled Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents It will hit theaters in November 2023.
