The Orange County Fire Department (OCFA) has requested the community’s assistance in locating an armed man who may be responsible for starting a fire at a Santa Ana business.
Security cameras captured the suspect entering the scene at 3:30 a.m. Monday, March 20. The event occurred in the 1000 block of East 6th Street in the city of Santa Ana.
In the video, a man with a backpack can be seen spilling liquid on desks in what appears to be an office.
The suspect “used an accelerant to start and spread a fire,” according to the OCFA statement.
Firefighters managed to put out the fire in 11 minutes, but the structure suffered significant damage.
Fire investigators, with support from the Santa Ana police, are looking for the man who was also armed at the time of the incident.
