I’m not a big fan of remakes (except if they turn out as good as Resident Evil 4, because I’m not blind either); I see them as an excuse for companies to cash in on your nostalgia. But I don’t like them because I think there is a better way to perform this last action and without charging you a single euro: demakes. Those versions of current games that attempt to imagine what they would look like on consoles of past generations; being the amazing Dead Space demake the one I’m going to focus on here.

The thing is, the designer known as Fraser Brumley released a Dead Space demake that attempts to imagine what the game would have looked like if it was released on the original PlayStation. Next, I will tell you everything you need to know about it, since you can play it for free on PC in a very easy way and try it for yourself. Let’s bother

How to play Dead Space for free (the PS1 demake version)

  • This version of Dead Space is available on the itch.io platform
  • Here is the link with which you can download it
  • Once you have downloaded and installed it on your PC, you can play it no problem
  • It’s a demake that recreates what we can see in the game in an incredible way, since it reinvents it like it’s a game from the early 2000s: polygons with jagged edges, not very good resolution… this demake has everything to please
  • I leave you with a short clip below so you can look at it with your own eyes and freak out like i did

What do you think of this Dead Space demake? Will you try it? I read you in the comments.
