What money does.

Just a month ago, the man who won the historic Powerball jackpot bought a house in the Hollywood Hills worth $25.5 million because he now owns another property, this times in the place where he was born.

Edwin Castro, 30, kicked off the march with the purchase of a $4 million Altadena residence and is just a few miles from the gas station where he bought the ticket that made him a billionaire, according to real estate magazine Dirt.

The new home was built in 1953, has spectacular mountain views, and is approximately 4,361 square feet.

According to the Compass real estate page, the property is a modern Japanese-inspired single-storey home that stands out for its “simplicity and attention to detail and contemplative atmosphere.”

The house has five bedrooms, four bathrooms and an office. One of the bedrooms is even a theatre.

According to Compass, the U-shaped focal point is the patio which “creates your own private oasis so you can escape and relax in a Zen patio.” All this decor is complemented by a red floating Japanese roof.

Historic Powerball award winner Edwin Castro has bought a mansion in the Hollywood Hills worth over $25 million.

And for those hot summers that are coming to Southern California, it also includes a swimming pool.

The windows stretch from floor to ceiling where you can enjoy the Japanese-style garden, which is the theme of the house.

Castro was the winner of the historic November 7, 2022 draw where $2.04 billion was won.

The California Lottery announced Feb. 7 that Castro was the only winner to match all six numbers: 10, 33, 41, 47, 56, and the Powerball, 10.

Castro elected to receive the lump sum of $997.6 million.
