The spokesman for the Pembroke Park Police Department, Ra Shana Dabney-Donovan, pointed out about the event that members of the body executed a search warrant in a warehouse located on Ansin Boulevard.
“Pembroke Park detectives are recovering half a million stolen ammunition right now. Excellent and proactive police work!” the department said.
The official stressed that it is a large cache of ammunition that was allegedly stolen in the Pembroke Park area and other cities in South Florida.
The discovery was made on Monday night, when the agents located approximately 500,000 bullets in the warehouse.
Deputies also found a suspicious item, so they contacted the Broward Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad.
The specialists confirmed the existence of an explosive and an ” unknown secondary device “.
Police did not announce any arrests, but announced that they plan to provide more information in the coming days.
