Orlando Florida. – Yaritza Colón, a mother from Osceola County, reported that a subject in a van attempted to kidnap her 13-year-old daughter as she walked to the bus stop for school.

Although the minor was not physically assaulted, the little girl asked her mother to spend this spring break at her grandmother’s house, Colón told Telemundo 31.

“We want to find the person who did this. She arrived at the bus stop with her twin sister and one of her friends sends her a message to pick her up at her house. Within minutes or seconds, the individual approaches my daughter and tells her that to get on the bus, to move on…to get on the bus,” the mother said.

Colón’s security videos show a black Chevrolet truck passing by his daughter at 8:16 a.m. last Friday.

The incident occurred in the community of Siesta Lago in Osceola County.

“And that’s when the man rolls down the window and says to her, ‘Get in, run, get in, but she tells him no and keeps walking. He tried to open the door and that’s when she ran into the middle of the mobile homes,” Colón said.

The mother says that by managing to stay in the middle of two houses, the minor was able to call her sister for help, a few seconds later the truck driver continued on his way to leave the community.

The man was described as having a thick build, dark complexion, beard, bald head and glasses.

In denouncing the alleged attempt to kidnap his daughter, Colón said he was able to learn of other similar testimonies that would link the same driver of the truck.

“I spoke to another neighbor about it and she told me that they had tried to do the same thing with another girl, that is to say that the individual already knows that at that time the children frequent the neighborhood because they go to school”, she denounced.

Furthermore, he said that although he approached the authorities, he was unsuccessful. “I contacted the police and they said they still have nothing to offer me, I’m worried…I go out at different times to see if I see the truck,” she said. added.

Colón filed the complaint with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, an institution that is investigating the matter.
