Florida Senate Republicans introduced a bill prohibiting doctors from performing or knowingly terminating pregnancy after six weeks gestation, instead of the current 15 weeks.

The measure was introduced on March 7 and would reduce the weeks for pregnant women to have abortions.

SB 300 would only make exceptions “if the woman having an abortion does so because she is a victim of rape or incest, subject to certain conditions.”

These restrictions include requiring anyone other than a doctor to cause the termination of pregnancy and requiring that drugs intended for use in abortion be administered in person by a doctor; prohibiting the shipment of said drug through the United States Postal Service or any other courier or shipping service.
