A 41-year-old man who was killed in a hit-and-run in the South Los Angeles area was identified as Arik Parker Tuesday morning by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

Paramedics were dispatched to Century Boulevard and Hoover Street around 8:55 p.m. Thursday, and Parker was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement, the Los Angeles Police Department said it believed Parker was on the freeway when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle on Century Boulevard.

“There is no suspicious information at this time and the vehicle is described as a dark-coloured van,” police said.

Los Angeles has offered a reward of up to $50,000 to help solve a fatal hit-and-run accident, including identifying information about the motorist.

Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident.
