NEW YORK — What would have been a fun day turned into a tragedy for a family who traveled from New York to the Dominican Republic. This after the cruel murder of a 9 year old boy.
It is the miner Gioser Luis Féliz Camilo, who died in the early hours of Wednesday from a bullet hole in the head when he arrived in the country through Cibao international airport with members of his family, and they were heading towards Villa Vásquez, by the Circunvalación Avenue in Santiago.
“We passed the toll and it was after that they passed in front of us, we did not stop and we continued and that is when they fired”, says the father of the youngest, Sergio Luis Féliz.
Dominican Republic President Luis Abinader regretted the incident and confirmed the arrest of five suspects. Since I learned of the death of Gioser Luis Féliz, I have been following the case,” the president said on Twitter. “I have been informed by the director of the national police of the arrest of the 5 criminals who committed this horrible crime. Now justice must be ensured in the courts,” he added.
“In less than 24 hours, five men identified as the perpetrators of the death of a 9-year-old boy were arrested,” also confirmed Colonel Diego Pesqueira from the Dominican Republic.
Those allegedly involved in the murder, who reside in the Cienfuegos de Santiado sector, have been identified as Luis Ángel Vargas Brito, Derlin Javier Mercado Martínez, César Junior Ulloa Cuevas, José Manuel Almonte Santana and Elian Martínez Sánchez.
According to the Police, the suspects rented the white vehicle with which they followed the car driven by the minor’s father, his romantic partner and his son. The little boy, who was in the fourth year of primary school, was shot in the head and died at the Doctor Arturo Grullón children’s hospital in Santiago.
