Russia’s invasion of Ukraine a year ago displaced thousands of Ukrainian families to the United States. Many have come to South Florida with children who are now studying in Miami Dade Public Schools.
However, to mark a year since Russia launched its brutal and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainian students donned their traditional blue and gold costumes with Ukrainian flags draped over their shoulders.
For one person, the students we met today are extremely grateful to be in the United States, where they are safe from Putin’s missiles.
Now they hope and pray for victory, a speedy end to the war and reunion with their families back home.
