OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma – An appeals court in Oklahoma upheld the death sentence on Thursday for a man found guilty of beheading a co-worker.
ALTON ALEXANDER NOLEN IS 36 YEARS OLD
The court rejected allegations that 36-year-old Alton Alexander Nolen was mentally ill and incompetent to stand trial.
The court also rejected the defendant’s allegations of improper jury selection, inadequate photographic evidence, and misconduct by the prosecutor.
Nolen’s attorneys have not commented on the matter.
The man was convicted and sentenced to death for the 2014 beheading of Colleen Hufford, 54, at the Vaughan Foods plant in the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore.
Prosecutors said Nolen killed Hufford and injured another colleague after being suspended for threatening his co-workers.
