Michael B. Jordan is a big anime fan and everything indicates that a Creed anime would already be among his plans
“Creed” has become a salvation for boxing movie lovers, because after many years without having a franchise to live up to what “Rocky” was, this spin off managed to find up to three deliveries that got people buzzing. In the aftermath Michael B. Jordan, the main person in charge of all the shows, revealed his inspiration in the epic of the anime, in particular for the third installment of the franchise. NOW, It seems that a “Creed” anime is already part of his plans.
The Creed anime would already be part of a deal with Amazon
Deadline reported it, at the moment without official confirmation of any kindbut what they specifically put forward is the following:
- wake Deadlinefranchise Creed could create its own universe of content through an agreement with Amazon. This would lead to more movies, a TV series and…apparently also an anime.
- At the moment from Deadline they have not received an official comment on this, but they have sources that assure that ‘an animated series linked to this Rocky spin-off is already in the works‘. Likewise, the anime is said to be accompanied by a live-action series from Creed.
- For now Deadline doesn’t provide any additional details about the project, either in terms of a release date or the studio behind it. (Also, since in the US they use the word “anime” a lot of times without distinguishing between anime and American anime series, I also wouldn’t 100% assume that it is an “anime” in the Japanese sense of the word).
Honestly, it makes total sense that a “Creed” anime exists. You just have to listen to how Michael B. Jordan himself talks about the sector and the productions that inspired him growing up to understand that he really loves everything. The truth, after seeing “Hajime no Ippo” and “Megalo Box,” I won’t complain if another boxing anime pops up, basically because who knows if either of those two franchises ever returns to action.
