Orlando Florida. – Orlando Eagle Drop Slingshot, the company that operates the Orlando FreeFall at ICON Park where 14-year-old Tire Sampson died, settled the matter with the Florida Department of Agriculture by agreeing to shut down the ride and pay a fine of $250,000.

The agreement, signed on February 6, prohibits the company from operating the attraction again and directs it “not to apply or reapply for a permit to do so in the future.”

The fine expired on Tuesday.

In November, Florida state authorities found “multiple violations of Florida law” in connection with the death of Tire Sampson, the 14-year-old who fell from the Orlando free fall at Icon Park .

Nikki Fried, Florida’s commissioner of agriculture and consumer services, told a news conference she was seeking a fine of more than $250,000, one of the largest the department has imposed, on Orlando Eagle Drop Slingshot, LLC.

He also requested the permanent revocation of the license of the attraction where the young man died.
