Cipher Academy, by the author of Bakemonogatari, has become a translator’s nightmare

Nisios is a particular author, I think the one who has seen or read something from “Bakemonogatari” and that whole ‘Monogatari’ line you have behind you will know exactly what I’m talking about, and if not, just for the simple fact that it’s all weird, I recommend you give it a try. Well, since the end of 2022 last year that the author took over the story of something known as “Cipher Academy”, a manga that literally turned into a nightmare for translators.

Cipher Academy has a professional translator throw in the towel

• In general Cipher Academy constantly relies on puns which makes translating from Japanese to English, or literally any other language, quite difficult to get past, but the image is something that belongs to chapter 10 and ended up breaking the official translator. At its core, the manga currently represents a game between two characters in which Japanese syllables are omitted to provide an answer (and the translator, as best he can, ends up making sense of it all to the reader more than something else).
• The translator has so far reported that the manga is not canceled as such in English, but simply another translator will come into play who will take over from Cipher Academy. A total of 13 chapters lasted the poor, and they already seem too many.
