A rideshare driver was shot and killed in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven in Lynwoodearly Friday morning, by passengers who left the scene in their car.

The driver was found dead, around 1:30 a.m., outside the store on the 2800 block of Imperial Highway. Officers said there appeared to have been a fight between the driver and two passengers prior to the shooting.

The driver picked up the two men and took them to 7-Eleven, officers said.

“At that point he was shot, with a gunshot wound to the upper body,” said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Michael Modica.

The attackers left in the driver’s car, which was found in a nearby neighborhood.

No arrests were reported. Detailed descriptions of the attackers were not immediately available.
