The idea of making a revival of his great classics was enshrined during lockdown, as The Edge comments: “Suddenly we had the place and the time to make music without any pressure or expectation.. This idea, which I had been toying with for a while, to try out some of our songs in a way that was easier than we had in years.”.
“We took a song, Every Breaking Wave, and cut it down to piano, or Staring at the Sun, cut it down to acoustic guitar and vocals. It was a golden opportunity to see where it took us But the good thing was, there was no need to take it off if we didn’t like it. We could do it and see how it worked, so we could enjoy the process. It was amazing fun“adds the guitarist.

Everything they have achieved so far has been possible thanks to the close relationship between the songwriting duo, as their union dates back a long time. “I’ve worked with Ed since I was 16 and we write songs together, he’s musical genius. He brings the magic and I help shape it, I try to put words to what’s in the music. He’s often not very good, but he can do anything.”explains Bono.
