After several hours of uncertainty with postponement included, the new launch of Blue Origin already has an official time. Jeff Bezos’s company had to postpone takeoff yesterday due to the weather north of Van Horn, Texas, where the Amazon owner’s company launch base is located.

After being postponed for 24 hours due to the weather, the launch will take place on Wednesday, October 13 at 08:30 a.m. local time. The ship will have a special passenger, the 90-year-old actor William Shatner.

Shatner is a well-known actor in pop culture for playing Captain James T. Kirk of the ship Enterprise in the classic 1960s series Star Trek.

This will be the second launch of the New Shepard rocket which will also have four people in its crew. Together with William Shatner, will travel Audrey Powers, Vice President of Missions and Operations of Blue Origin, Glen de Vries, founder of the Metadata company and Cris Boshuizen, founder of the Planet Labs company and former NASA engineer.

The New Shepard is a vertical take-off suborbital rocket belonging to the new generation of rockets that have vertical landing technology, like SpaceX rockets.
