A citizen anonymously called authorities to report the vehicle that arrived at a residence in Weslaco.

Eighty-four undocumented migrants were rescued from a semitrailer in South Texas, Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra reported on Twitter.

In a message yesterday, at around 4 p.m., from his account on the social network, the official indicated that a citizen called anonymously to report about a semi-trailer that arrived at a residence in Weslaco.

Weslaco is located about 12 miles north of the Mexican border.

“A concerned citizen called to report that a tractor-trailer truck pulled up to a residence located in the area of ​​Mile 12 1/2 N & Mile 6W and saw people getting out of the trailer. Officers working with OPSG (Operation Stonegarden) & USBP (Border Patrol) agents responded and rescued 84 immigrants. The investigation continues,” Guerra announced.

The sheriff accompanied the message with a photo of the cargo vehicle and another of the group of immigrants, made up of men and women, sitting in a line on the ground above ground.

There have been no updates on the health status of foreigners or the immigration procedures they face.
