Marcus Bryant, a Brooklyn man, died after his clothes got stuck in a train door and, based on it, he slipped on the tracks, authorities in New York say.

The 37-year-old victim was getting off a Q train at the Avenue station. According to witnesses to local media, the man fell onto the tracks after his jacket got stuck in the carriage door. Then she fell onto the tracks.

New York City Transit President Richard Davey told NBC Chicago that the doors had already closed when the passenger, identified by police as Marcus Bryant of Ocean Avenue, was somehow trapped between the train and the platform.

“This was not an incident with the door,” Davey emphasized. He said there was a witness and the MTA employees were questioned and drug and alcohol tested, per agency protocol, after what happened. The investigation is ongoing.

Segun explains Daily News, a train arrived just after the fall of the aforementioned, but, fortunately, managed to stop in time. However, although he was not hit by the train, suffered fatal injuries. The man was taken to Maimonides Medical Center but could not be saved, police said.
