The National Fire Center of the United States has reported that 55 fires have affected 12 states of the country in recent days related to high temperatures.
Among the most serious fires are those in northern California that have evacuated hundreds of people and destroyed several houses.
“Firefighting efforts have been hampered due to heat, dryness and wind,” said Jaime Williams, spokesman for the California Department of Forest Protection against fires, according to the ‘Los Angeles Times’.
On July 2, a fire started in the Beckwourth complex, which this weekend has become the largest in the entire state of California.
The spokeswoman for the US forest service has stated that authorities have received reports that the fire is destroying houses in several communities, but no official figures are known.
