A 12-year-old girl in Florida stole her father’s car, picked up her friend and crossed state lines to allegedly meet someone she met online, but the girls turned themselves in after seeing their faces on television after an alert for the disappearance of the two, authorities said.
Local authorities suspect the miners traveled along the I-10 freeway from Florida to Louisiana.
According to Union County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Captain Lyn Williams, she said the department had information that the girls may have traveled to “meet someone they met online.”
The teenagers were last seen in their hometown of Lake Butler, Florida.
