Microsoft has applied for registration of the Ender Dragon trademark. As it is also the name of the final boss of Minecraft, the community has started to speculate that it could be a new game from the popular universe.

A few days ago an ad appeared from Justia Trademarks that Microsoft filed for ‘Ender Dragon’ trademark for video games, toys, books and apparel.

Although the app does not reveal any details about what is said to be the Ender Dragon, many believe that the project could be related to the popular Minecraft.

Why such speculation? Well, in the original game, Ender Dragon is the final boss and one of its most distinctive elements. It is therefore possible that Microsoft plans to create a Minecraft spin-off centered on the famous beast.

There are also rumors that it could be the canceled Scalebound series. It’s less likely, however, given Ender Dragon’s close ties to Minecraft. It should be noted that trademark applications do not always result in actual goods or services. Microsoft may have simply filed a request to protect the rights to the name.

So all that remains is to be patient and pay attention to more, this time to official information. Undoubtedly, the wait will become more pleasant with the release of Minecraft Legends. The spin-off of the original will be released on April 18 and will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, XONE, XSX/S and Nintendo Switch.
