Final Fantasy XIV’s Island Sanctuary feature has proven to be very popular with fans who just want to relax and enjoy the quiet life. Raising animals to craft materials is a big part of the Island Sanctuary experience, and Square Enix will be adding additional creatures to find over time. Some of these animals are notoriously rare to spawn and require specific triggers before spawning. One such elusive creature is the Apkallu of Paradise. This is where you can find an Apkallu from Heaven in your island shrine.

How to Get a Paradise Apkallu on Your Island Shrine in FFXIV

The Apkallu of Paradise is an adorable red penguin creature that inhabits the northern shore of your island, just northeast of the waterfall area. Players wishing to tame it do not need to have flight unlocked in their island sanctuary before hunting this bird.

The Apkallu du Paradis is located in (X:19, Y:11). However, it won’t always be there. For it to appear, you must visit your island shrine between the time period of 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Eorzea time. Eorzea Time is the world clock in the game. The Paradise Apkallu is considered a small beast and can only be captured with a makeshift network.

It’s a pretty small window to catch this creature, and getting there in time isn’t always easy. To help with this, players use external websites that monitor the island’s upcoming shrine weather and indicate when the animal will appear.

The Apkallu of Paradise will provide players with an egg and a rare chance to get a fleece when they pick it up from the grass. Feeding him Premium Island Greenfeed once a day will give him a much better chance of providing a fleece. These items are useful for crafting in the Workshop.
