MY.GAMES announces that Pixonic’s multiplayer mobile shooter War Robots is launching its PvE (Player versus Environment) mode called “Extermination”. The new mode is already available in the latest update, 8.8.

Integrating PvE content into pure PVP games is a challenge that very few developers have taken on, so for the team it was a big and risky experiment. Since its launch in 2014, War Robots has always been characterized as a game where players compete against each other. However, from the start, the development team toyed with the idea of adding a PvE mode, so players would have a place to disconnect from the intense multiplayer combat. With the PvE mode, Extermination, users will be able to experience the War Robots universe from a different angle.

The concept of extermination emerged during Pixonic’s Tech Days, a studio initiative where each member of the team can step away from their mundane tasks and experiment with their most creative ideas. A very early version of the PvE mode was briefly introduced to War Robots in May 2022 as a limited time event. The response has been very positive and fans are increasingly asking for a mode like this to be added. Adding a PvE mode to the game was only a matter of time.

“Sometimes the ideas of the players can conflict with the approach of the developers, but that was not the case with the PvE mode of War Robots. It seems that everyone who played the game dreamed of this mode at least once. So when the opportunity to make it happen, it was the perfect storm: the players had asked for it and the team couldn’t wait to make it happen. It was an ambitious project, but so fun and very exciting,” added Boris Burangulov, Executive Producer of War Robots.

In Extermination, players will choose a team of robots and battle against gigantic robotic spiders at different levels to receive awesome rewards. The difficulty and the amount of rewards gradually increase with each new level.

At first, Commanders will face small enemies called Ticks, which individually are not dangerous, but tend to attack in swarms. Enemies in the later stages of the game will pose a real threat to even the most experienced players, and in the final Bastion level, the Extermination boss awaits them. There is no limit to the number of times players can attempt to complete the course, and overall progress is reset every two weeks.

To start this adventure, the team has prepared a very special cinematic. It explains how legendary pilot Nessa Riggs, the main character of Extermination, first encountered the Gray Swarm.
