Not only can Torgal help Clive in battle, but if you ever get lost in Final Fantasy XVI, Torgal can guide you where you need to go. In a short clip that Square Enix uploaded to its Twitter account for FFXVI we can see how the navigation system works. As a reminder, you can pet Torgal – producer Naoki Yoshida actively encourages him, every time he performs.

As you can see in the clip, with the press of a button, Torgal will leave Clive’s side. The dog will then run in the direction you need to go. You may only be able to guide Torgal to the next location for a quest. This means that if you are looking for particular items and you are rejected, Torgal may not be able to help you. However, since this is a feature of a game that is still in development, things will not be clear until the game is released.
Torgal is Clive’s dog in Final Fantasy XVI. In a previous interview Famitsu conducted with the development team, we learned that it can also help Clive in combat. Torgal can help attack enemies, which means he can help your combo and prevent you from losing him. Players playing with manual settings enabled can also control Torgal directly. However, at most you can tell him what to do and when to do it during battle.
