Temenos is your clerk in octopathic traveler 2 and while that means he’s your healer, it also means he’s probably one of the best supports you can get. It makes all nighttime battles so much more manageable by simply existing. Additionally, he, or whoever you equip with the Cleric side job, becomes invaluable in the late game through Aelfric’s blessing.

How does Temenos work on octopathic traveler 2
Temenos is your cleric, which basically means he is your octopathic traveler 2 appointed curator. He is the one who gets a multi-target healing spell early on, as well as the only one with a multi-target cooling spell.
Here is the list of all the job skills you can learn.
- Heal Wounds: 15 SP to heal the health of all allies, including Temenos.
- Holy Light: 6 SP single target light spell.
- Prayer to the Flame: 8 SP physical and elemental defense of a single ally.
- Mystic Staff: 6 SP, single-target, two-hit staff attack that restores 10% damage as SP.
- Luminescence: 14SP AOE light spell.
- Holy Shield: 10 SP buff that halves an ally’s damage on the next attack.
- Revive: 40SP to revive all stunned allies.
- Aelfric’s Blessing: An ally can act twice each turn, with the second action being the last after everyone has acted. It lasts three rounds.
Good. Afterwards. That’s what you do. The first thing Temenos needs to learn is Revive if that’s not the character you choose first. If you go through its first chapter, you should have it at the end.
If he is the first character you chose, choose Luminescence as your first ability. His staff-based physical attack isn’t that strong and he’ll need the multi-target spell to survive and get to the second ally.
Luminescence and Revive are your priorities, so go for Mystical Staff and Sacred Shield. Be sure to learn all of the Cleric moves before moving on to side tasks, as Aelfric’s Blessing is a boon for boss fights and late game.
You should also always make sure it is dark when Temenos is in your party. He has the Judgment by Moonlight talent. This means that in the first round of battle, all enemies will be blinded. During the first three turns of the battle, his physical and elemental defense will also be weakened. It is useful!
Finally, his Latent Power Limit Break Judgment is useful for both general combat and when using his coercion ability. Whatever attack you use, if you have Judgment, the enemy will lose shield points. It’s fantastic.
And Temenos? octopathic traveler 2 Route actions?
With Temenos, you get someone who can recruit NPCs during the day via Guide and then force them to feed you information at night.
The guide is incredibly helpful. However, it is tied to the level of Temenos. So if you haven’t spent any time with him, it might be best to opt for Ochette’s Befriend or Partitio’s Hire to use some amount of food or money to get an NPC to follow you around.
With Coerce, this can be a way to get information without worrying about a success rate, money, or a character’s level. However, this is related to the breaking of an individual’s shield. Since you only start out with staff and light magic attacks as a cleric, you’ll need to add a secondary class which increases the number of skills you can use.
What side jobs are good for Temenos in octopathic traveler 2
Honestly, there are two routes I took to Temenos. One is to do your side job in octopathic traveler 2 the scholar, so you can use it as a versatile assistant. The other is to have him work as a dancer as well.
With the Scholar role, the reason is obvious. Temenos will now function as a cleric to heal and buff allies. Making him a scholar also grants him fire, ice, and lightning magic in addition to light.
As for the dancer position, you make Temenos the best follower. This means it will be excellent for polishing or weakening. You’ll also give him a knife that he can use on the rare occasions when you want him to physically attack. (Don’t laugh! It could happen! Especially if he’s trying to coerce someone!)
Of course, if you want to make Temenos a master coercitor, go to the weapon master so he has access to all the weapons. But I would recommend saving that for Hikari or Ochette.
