CD Projekt has revealed information about their upcoming projects. Among other things, we learned how many people are working on the new The Witcher and the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077.

The StockWatch.pl service (in Polish) hosted a discussion with Adam Kicinski and Piotr Nielubowicz from CD Projekt. They talked about the company’s current projects.

  1. Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Freedom it is currently operated by 330 people. The work is said to be in its final stages and the developers are confident that the release will take place this year.
  2. In turn, the project North Starwhat is the new installment The Sorcererit is currently managed by nearly 200 people. This team will continue to grow and the company is interested in hiring experienced developers.
  3. Polaris is developed on Unreal Engine 5. One of the CD Projekt teams is working closely with Epic Games to enrich this technology with solutions that facilitate the creation of open-world RPGs with extensive scenarios. Thanks to this, the transition to UE5 will not speed up, but it will not slow down the work on the new Witcher either. On the contrary, it will greatly facilitate the development of future projects. That’s why CD Projekt plans to release three universe games within six years of the release of Polaris.
  4. The company is also working on the so-called GWENTfinity, a set of initiatives to ensure that Gwent: The Witcher Card Game can live on without active studio involvement, kept alive by the fans themselves.

Unfortunately, we still don’t know the exact release date of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. All we know is that it is expected this year. The expansion will come to PC and Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5 consoles.
