Considered one of the best titles of the PS3/Xbox 360 generation, The Last of Us received an optimized port on PS5, and now on PC.

The Last of Us Part I: SteamDeck optimization will have to wait

Unfortunately, all is clearly not in good condition for this version. Since launch, many players are complaining about bugs, frame rate drops and crashes galore… Consequently, the game’s ratings on Steam are far from excellent, with a majority of negative opinions.

Although several fixes have already been deployed, not all issues have been resolved yet. Currently, The Naughty Dog and Iron Galaxy teams are working to make this version as transparent as possible and are therefore not ready to offer software optimization on SteamDeck yet.

Sure enough, the developers released a statement to the effect: “While we know many of you would like to play the game on the Steam Deck, we prioritize fixes before submitting them for review. We’ll keep you updated on the status of the Steam Deck version as we improve the PC version.

As a reminder, The Last of Us Part I is available on PC from March 28 on PC, after coming to PS5 in September 2022. Despite all the concerns mentioned above, the adventure still offers a perfectly mastered narration that highlights two incredibly developed characters.
