Although The Last of Us Part I is (semi-)playable on the Steam Deck, the game has been classified as “unsupported” by Valve. And according to Naughty Dog, verifying Steam Deck is not a priority at this time.

Can we play The Last of Us Part 1 on Steam Deck?

Those who want to play The Last of Us Part 1 on the Steam Deck can do so, but expect its performance to be a disaster. Naughty Dog is busy fixing the game on PC, so handheld isn’t exactly a priority right now.

“We know many of you would love to play The Last of Us Part I on Steam Deck”, Naughty Dog admitted. “We prioritize patches and fixes before submitting it for review. We’ll keep you updated on the status of the Steam Deck as we improve the PC version.

That makes The Last of Us Part 1 an outlier among other first-party PlayStation games on Steam, but such is the state that leaving Steam Deck checking last on the list is probably a great idea.

Prior to the game’s release, Naughty Dog promised that The Last of Us Part 1 would be playable on handhelds. Players who purchased the game to play on the go are understandably unhappy with the news.
