The Elder Scrolls 6 is sure to be an Xbox exclusive. This is what Jeff Grubb announces in a tweet

Exclusives in the world of video games are a well-known mechanism today. They allow console manufacturers, mainly, to secure a certain audience, fan of a particular license.

Fans of the fantasy action-RPG license The Elder Scrolls who are eagerly awaiting the sixth opus may be interested to know that it will most certainly be an Xbox exclusive.

The Elder Scrolls 6 will almost certainly be an Xbox exclusive

It will probably be a few more years before Bethesda is ready to show off its work on The Elder Scrolls 6. That being said, if we are to believe a recent tweet from Jeff Grubb, the game could be an Xbox console exclusive. by Microsoft. And we are not talking here of a temporary exclusivity but rather permanent.

Is it totally a surprise? Not really. As you may recall, in 2020 Microsoft announced that it was acquiring the Bethesda studio. This has led to much speculation.

What about future Bethesda games? Will these be exclusives to the Xbox (and PC) platform? It would indeed be quite logical for Microsoft to want to reserve triple A to attract more players to its Xbox platform.

Pete Hines of Bethesda had more or less hinted at this earlier this year. We learned at the same time that Starfield, the studio’s big current project, would be an Xbox exclusive.

Pete Hines had also shared that he understood the frustration of non-Xbox players but that there was nothing he could do about it. In other words, the situation would be mainly due to Bethesda.

As said, no one knows when The Elder Scrolls 6 will be released but, for now, it looks like The Elder Scrolls 5 is the last game in the franchise to see the light of day on multiple platforms.
