This year’s Division Day was filled with news and information, but lacked release dates. That’s exactly the situation that happened with The Division: Heartland, one of Ubisoft’s biggest and seemingly closest projects to date.

As part of the franchise’s annual event, we’ve been revealed a few more looter-shooter details, such as that players will step into the shoes of a Division agent tasked with protecting the town of Silver. Creek from invasions and rebel factions. . , while trying to figure out why rural America was affected differently by the dollar flu.

The game will also tie directly into The Division timeline and offer players new characters and stories to discover, as well as gameplay similar to the mainline titles.

Division: Heartland

When the game launches on PC and consoles, players will need to help establish a base of operations, which will be used to launch missions in the local town. This base will act as a hub in the game and you will return there with the loot you find that you can save or use to improve your character and be able to undertake more difficult activities.

The game will also feature three specialized classeseach of which will allow you to approach combat and the rural world in a different way.

As for the world, we are told that it will be difficult but accessible during the day, becoming much more dangerous at night, when the most powerful and deadly enemies emerge from the forests. There will also be contaminated areas that will require special gear to explore, but will likely reward you with better gear. Additionally, there will be “treacherous” agents that you have to face and defeat in the game.

Ubisoft also said The Division: Heartland will be a live-action game that aims to tell its story and grow over time, adding another live-service title to Ubisoft’s ranks.

It’s unclear when the game will debut, but we’ve been told that another phase of testing is coming soon and invites will work similarly to the ongoing XDefiant beta, which allows invited players to distribute five additional invitations to whoever they want. .

Ubisoft concluded by announcing that there will be more The Division: Heartland news which, if we had to guess, will likely be at Ubisoft Connect on June 12th.
