Playing as Scav in Escape from Tarkov is a great way to relax in what is otherwise a very intense game. You enter with next to nothing and dying only costs you what you find in the Raid. However, if you want to walk away with a good amount of loot, you’ll need to pick the right map to loot when you Scav. While you should use your Scav time to learn maps you don’t know yet, if you’re looking for a quick win or experience PvP without the risk of punishment, these are the best Scav raids in Tarkov.

Customs

One of the smallest maps in the game, Customs is nevertheless home to some of the easiest loot to find and the easiest hot zones to reach. The Crack House and Fortress in the center of the map are two of the busiest places in Customs, and even if they’ve been cleared, there’s probably another dead Scav or even a PMC body you can loot. In our experience, the second floor of the fortress is rarely looted, even 20-25 minutes after a raid, and there’s an odd chance that the Crack House has a few goodies. Warehouses on both sides of the map and rooms to the south are also good places for juicy leftovers.

Exchange

Few maps are as packed with loot as Exchange. There are also tons of potential paths. One of the best is to scour the parking lot for weapon crates and duffel bags, then head to Oli, Idea, or Goshan Grocery respectively for tech, tools, and food. The map is large enough that if you stay away from the various shops where much of the backlash happens, you can easily pick up a backpack full of loot and have to leave even more behind.

Escape the Tarkov Lighthouse Raid

Don’t let the size of the headlight put you off. If you head to the cottage or resort areas to the east or to the water treatment plant to the north, you’re sure to find something of value. Be warned though – the lighthouse is one of the most contested areas thanks to a bunch of safes, the namesake lighthouse to the south, its valuable loot for lighthouse keepers and the overall quality of what you can get of the place. If you accept your inner rat or choose your battles wisely, there’s just too much good here for dozens of PMCs to take.

streets of tarkov

Streets is an absolute treasure trove, with an almost endless number of possible loot routes, from the abandoned construction site to Bear Camp, to the dozens of apartments and other nooks and crannies. There’s also the way early Scav players enter a Streets raid, making it easy to group together into Scav armies of five or six and hunt down PMCs who are no doubt looking to take advantage. Even better, you can stick to one area of the streets and walk out with an overloaded bag and at least a few expensive items. You don’t need to see the whole map to get your money’s worth.

Escape the Tarkov Woods Raid

As big and empty as Woods seems, its few trouble spots are very hot that there is almost always a fresh PMC corpse in the military camp or in the sawmill. Both locations are to the south, but if you go north you have Scav Town, a haven for AI Scavs and full of houses full of loot. No matter which area you enter on the map, there will be plenty of opportunities to not only pick up what your fellow Scavs left behind, but you can also find some of the best gear in the game left behind by a poor PMC. We saw up to three PMC corpses and several additional Scavs at Boot Camp alone, so if you need near-guaranteed loot, there are few better places.
