Covered in a balaclava, Sunrise policeman Carl Haller, who faces charges of possessing and viewing child pornography on his personal electronic devices, was released on bail.
Authorities say an investigation began Jan. 30 into allegations that Haller consumed child pornography. After a search of his home and devices, the FBI found evidence of Haller’s possession and intent. agent to consume this material.

For its part, the municipal police addressed the situation in a press release saying:
“We understand that this information is very concerning, but we want to reassure the community that prompt action has been taken.”
Haller is now on unpaid administrative leave and has also had his firearms, badge and police identification removed by police.
