We’ve all experienced a Monopoly game that got out of control. But this latest case, which occurred on Sunday morning in Brussels, has gone a step further. Because, as reported by Sky News, an early morning game of Monopoly resulted in a samurai sword fight that left two people injured, one of whom is believed to be in critical condition.
The incident reportedly happened after residents of a home were harmed by four people playing the board game on the pavement outside their home at 5am on Sunday. After a man tried to scare away the Monopoly players, his son ran out of the house with a samurai sword, leading to an altercation where one of the Monopoly players was injured along with the son after ended up struggling and fighting for the knife.
After the two were arrested and taken to the hospital, it was said that the Monopoly player was already discharged from the hospital, but the son is ” a life-threatening condition” today, and that the sidewalk where the incident happened was littered with blood and Monopoly cards.
