The waltz of video game adaptations continues for Capcom which, after Resident Evil, will bring the adventures of Street Fighter to cinema and television.

these last years, there have never been so many video game adaptations for film and television. Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, Uncharted, Super Mario Bros, Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us… Many of the main licenses are already entitled to it, and many others will also take the plunge soon. This is particularly the case for Street Fighter which, alongside the release of Street Fighter 6, is also about to land on the big and small screen.

Street Fighter adaptations announced

Capcom actually confirmed this yesterday, a movie and TV series made in association with Legendary Entertainment (Dune, Godzilla vs Kong) are currently in the works. “The company is convinced that the adaptation of its video game content into films and series offers opportunities to promote its brands to a wide audience that goes beyond the video game market” then said the editor.

For the moment, no further details were given on the exact nature of these future adaptations.. However, given the many adaptations Resident Evil has enjoyed over the past two decades, the truth is that Capcom is far from new to this. Also, remember that a new animated film called Resident Evil: Death Island has already been announced for this summer.
